    After eight rare duck species produced chicks this year, the zoo is aflutter beautiful waterfowl from around the world. Our breeding program for sea ducks—important indicators of the health of coastal marine environments—has grown successfully since its launch four years ago. Some two dozen species are now on exhibit, many of which are either uncommon in zoos or endangered in the wild.
