July 16, 2013
When the Bronx Zoo's new home for Komodo dragons and other monitor lizards opens at Zoo Center this fall, zoo-goers will have much to marvel at. Beyond the trio of 6-foot Komodos, there will be fabricated sandstone cliffs from northern Australia, a New Guinean rain forest, complete with waterfall, and pandanus trees emerging from a swampy pond.
All these details help transport zoo-goers to our animals’ native habitats. The New York Times profiled the team of artists responsible for fashioning this exhibit and much more at the New York Zoos and Aquarium
in a new article.
