It was a little nerve-wracking. The Central Park Zoo worked so hard to raise these chicks and make sure that they would integrate with the rest of the colony. Watching the chicks go out on exhibit was a lot like sending their kids off to their first day of school.

Turns out raising a penguin chick is a lot like raising a human baby. In the beginning, the chicks spend all their time eating, sleeping, and pooping. Meanwhile, the zookeepers slave over them to keep them warm enough, well fed, and happy! But hey, nobody ever said parenthood was easy. Life in the Penguin Nursery

Raising baby penguins may sound like fun and games, but it's no easy job. Things can get messy, the nursery is freezing cold, and eight chicks eat an awful lot of fish each day.
