An Expedition Leader will lead you and your students on a one-hour adventure through the zoo. Tours provide special, teachable moments to reinforce concepts introduced and explored in classrooms, camps, and scouting programs.

General Zoo Tour

Pre-K - Adult

Interested in learning more about the zoo and the animals who call it home? Expedition Leaders will take your students on an unforgettable tour of the zoo with opportunities to showcase Wildlife Conservation Society global conservation efforts, animal care and welfare.

Animal Families

Pre-K - Adult

Just like people, animals have many different types of families. This tour concentrates on how animals interact with each other and how they raise their young. Your Expedition Leader will introduce your students to the diverse range of animal families that call the zoo home.

Animal Adaptations

Pre-K - Adult

What makes an animal suited for its environment? Your students will learn how adaptations help animals survive in the wild. Your Expedition Leader will highlight warning colors, camouflage, survival skills, and other ways animals are uniquely adapted to their environments. For older students, we will also introduce behavioral adaptations.

Animal Groups

Pre-K - Adult

Are your students studying a specific group of animals? Your Expedition Leader will focus your tour on one of the following: mammals, birds, or reptiles and amphibians. Indicate preference when booking.

Habitats & Ecosystems

Pre-K - Adult

What do animals need in order to survive in their habitats? Whether they live in a desert, rainforest, or on a mountain top, all animals need water, shelter, space and food! Your Expedition Leader will help your students discover what our animals eat and how they forage or hunt for food in different habitats.
